Cabaret Saturday, Feb 2

Friends, Baltimoreans, Countrymen…  The Hamilton Arts Collective (our incredible host) is making some updates to please the Marshall of FIRE! Please support them in any way you can.

In the meantime, The Hole in the Wall Cabaret goes NOMAD. That’s not an acronym for something, it’s just capitalized for emphasis. It’s just the word “nomad.” We’re looking at testing the waters at a number of different venues, so keep an eye out for this always-updated-in-a-very-timely-way website. And the myspace one too. Myspace is a great way to get a role on Dateline.

Anyway, we’re back at Load of Fun on February 2nd. I don’t feel like clicking the little linky button so just scroll down and you’ll find the address in last month’s post.

Here’s Emily Vaughn’s nifty flyer with some of the details (click to make it bigger):

No Booze can be Loads of Fun

Just a quick reminder that tonight’s venue, “Loads of Fun” on 120 W North Ave, does NOT allow alcohol, so our usual BYOB policy is not in effect. Trust our acts to be intoxicatingly good. I made a pun.

(If we return to LoF in the future, there will be options for alcohol purchase–just not this time)

HITW Makes CityPaper’s “Best of Baltimore” List!

We were completely shocked to open up the newspaper and find that we have been voted “Best Hole in The Wall” in Baltimore (just barely edging out the “Hole in the Wall Plaster & Drywall Co.,” “Hole-in-Your-Wall Voyeur Services, LLC” ” and an actual hole in the wall of the Citypaper office. IN YOUR FACE, actual hole).

Here’s a link to the interwebbish version of the article.

We shouldn’t have been shocked at the news–apparently Citypaper mailed us the information (including a party invite) and we missed it because our official “headquarters” is Laurel’s parents’ house and she only stops by there once a week to pick up her mail. The moral here? Visit your mother.

The Citypaper blurb even included a link to our website. Yes, this website. Here I stand, a deer in headlights, the naked truth of my fly-by-night web-design hackery bared plain for all of Baltizimore to see. Oh why oh why didn’t we hire a professional? Oh yeah, we don’t have any money.

So I’m sorry, new visitors and potential new HITW Cabaret fans, but I ain’t got nothin’ flashy for you on this website. I’ve been promising to upload pictures and videos from the HITW Cabaret since we began in April 2004.

It’s still on my to-do list.

In the meantime, please enjoy this picture of a kitten with a rifle:

a funny thing happened to the forum…

The hitw web forum has been temporarily removed. Either it was overrun with spammers, or our hitw community has a seriously disturbing obsession with viagra, mortgage refinancing, and ass-pounding. I is not a real web designer, I is not up on the latest internet security technology, and I is not qualified to combat cyber-terrizzism.

Nobody was really using the forum anyway, so no big loss. maybe some other time. Listen, red light, yellow light, green light go. Crazy little woman in a one man show. Mirror queen, mannequin, rhythm of love. Sweet dream, saccharine, loosen up.
