New Features for the HITW Website
Thanks to everyone who made Saturday’s cabaret a success. Next one in a month-ish.
I set up the new HITW website as a blog, so we can post and inseminate–um, I mean disseminate–new information easier. I’m still figuring out this whole blog thing, so bear with me if the site is clumsy and ugly for a while. Hey, it’s the hole in the wall cabaret, not the Ritz Carlton Cabaret. And while I rule at most things, web design falls under the not-really-even-a-hobby-heck-i-didn’t-even-buy-”web-design-for-dummies” category for me.
In the meantime, feel free to explore some of the new features.
- A Web Forum - where you can discuss the Cabaret, connect with artists, arrange for carpools, brainstorm acts, start collaborations, or just breeze the shoot. Sign up for the forum and write a post or two — right now there is some digital tumbleweed rolling through, but all it takes is for a few people to start writing. Next thing you know we’ll be a hoppin’ web community. Sho’ nuff.
- RSS Feeds - if you are so inclined, you can have new HITW posts automatically feed to your RSS reader. If the last sentence read like gobbletygook, feel free to ignore it. Yes, I said gobbletygook.
- Seriously though, try the RSS Feed thing. I mean it’s 2007, get with it.
- Photo Gallery — so far it’s empty, although we have some excellent pictures from the first few Cabarets that we will be uploading soon. Note: I’ve been promising to upload these photos “soon” since February 2005.
If anyone is familiar with Wordpress and wants to toss me some suggestions for neato things.
See you all in a month-ish. Tell your friends, enemies, and old chums to come to the cabaret!
